A leading energy trading firm is seeking a Transmission Analyst to join its dynamic team in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong technical background and a passion for optimizing transmission systems to support strategic trading activities. The ideal candidate will have direct experience working at an ISO within their modeling team.
Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Conduct electrical flow studies using automated tools to analyze transmission paths and identify opportunities for optimization and speculative trades.
Provide actionable recommendations to support trading strategies and ensure reliable power delivery.
Analyze and disseminate information on transmission issues including siting, interconnections, service requests, development activities, and strategic planning
Support trading and operations teams with insights on transmission system impacts and opportunities
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or equivalent operational experience
Advanced degree in a technical field is highly desirable
4-6 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years focused on transmission systems planning or operations, and ISO market operations
Proficiency with automated load flow tools and systems
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
