Program Coordinator role at

MedStar Research Institute, Inc. . Responsible for coordinating departmental activities associated with the fair and responsible conduct of patient care coordination, including data collection and management, program development, documentation, and quality control. Works with an organization that has unique healthcare needs in the community and requires special care coordination. Activities may occur across multiple sites and in collaboration with operations, community health operations, marketing, and quality and safety. Responsibilities Develops and contributes to the achievement of department goals; adheres to department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards; ensures compliance with hospital/facility policies and governmental/accreditation regulations. May conduct data collection and coordinate the flow of study data; review data for quality control and routine data inspections and cleaning protocols. Coordinate data extraction from clinical and research databases (e.g., patient safety reporting system, Vizient database, patient satisfaction survey database, and other sources defined by protocol). Coordinate protocol implementation and document processing; maintain project documentation and track progress; work with the research program director and principal investigators to overcome barriers. Participate in literature reviews, proposals, manuscripts, project reports, presentations of study design and findings, and dissemination toolkits. Participate in study team meetings and departmental team meetings; collaborate with the program director and investigators to develop data collection forms, surveys, processes, procedures, study manuals, and data analysis/tracking systems. Participate in meetings and committees; represent the department and business unit in community outreach; participate in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams and maintain effective relationships with other departments.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, healthcare-related field required; master's degree preferred. 3-4 years of experience in a healthcare setting; must be highly organized, detail oriented, with excellent time management, communication, and writing skills; able to work independently and as part of a team; strong working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Experience in Concierge Medicine, Executive Health, or Sports Medicine is preferred.

Ability to analyze challenging and complex healthcare issues and proactively propose and implement solutions. Applies independent judgment to program development and uses independent decision making to address real-life challenges, identify gaps, and determine program needs. Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to effectively communicate with physicians, staff, and other stakeholders; capable of presenting to managers, leaders, and external groups.
