Duties
This position is located in The Staff Training Academy (STA), Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), Glynco, Ga. The primary responsibilities include creating relevant policies, providing direct training, oversight, and guidance to peers and field staff to ensure the training and certification of all staff in cardiopulmonary response (CPR) and first aid. The incumbent serves as the BOP American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center (TC) Coordinator, training a nationwide pool of CPR Instructors, and ensuring their certification to teach local CPR courses under a train-the-trainer model. Responsibilities also include monitoring local classes, assessing program needs, planning, designing, executing, and evaluating training programs and projects, including budget development. The role involves cultivating and mentoring current and future BOP instructors.

- $88,621 - $115,213/year

Qualifications
To qualify, you must meet the following:
- Education: No substitution for experience at this grade level.
- Experience: One year of specialized experience in developing and conducting CPR and AHA training, designing and evaluating training programs, overseeing CPR programs, budget development, and program evaluation. Must possess current certification as an AHA CPR/AED Instructor, which is a mandatory selective placement factor. Experience can include paid and unpaid activities, with hours documented accordingly.
Applicants must upload transcripts if education is used to meet requirements. Foreign education must be verified as per Department of Education guidelines. Official transcripts are required prior to employment if selected.
Other Information
This position is not part of the bargaining unit. The annual salary is $97,485 ($46.71/hour). The incumbent may be relocated geographically. Appointment is contingent on satisfactory background checks, physical, urinalysis, and other conditions. Applicants must have completed mandatory correctional techniques courses if not already employed by BOP. Current federal employees must provide SF-50 documentation supporting their grade and tenure.
