Job Summary Product Applications Training Manager

– Distech Controls

Distech Controls is seeking a Product Applications Training Manager. This role reports to the Technical Support & Training Director and collaborates with the Technical Support team, Research & Development, and Product Sales to provide training services to customers primarily in North America and worldwide.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Provide training to customers on programming our controllers and using our software for controller management. Training can be delivered at Distech Controls offices, at the customer site, or virtually. Up to 50% travel, mostly in the US.

Manage equipment, workstations, and software required to provide training in a VM environment as well as physically.

Proactively improve available tools and internal processes within the department.

Ensure that the customer is engaged and following along during the class.

Create and/or update training materials and support tools offered to customers via the corporate website and in collaboration with the training team.

Develop and update new content for the training courses.

Contribute feedback from customers to product development regarding functionality; communicate changes per ISO procedures and policies.

Stay up to date with new technologies and products in the Distech Controls product line.

Assist in developing online training (e-learning) and other training projects as required by the supervisor.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Practical training/trainer qualifications.

University degree or technical certificate in HVAC/Controls or relevant technical training experience.

Minimum of 5 years in: Technical Training, HVAC Systems, Niagara environments, Building Automation, Instrumentation and Controls, Process Control, IT, and knowledge of APIs.

Programming and configuration of computer networks or IT systems.

Excellent communication skills; well organized; able to present to large audiences.

Proactive, autonomous, and able to demonstrate leadership; strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS) knowledge and experience.

Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, MBUS, and IT/web-based protocols.

Experience in control system estimating, design, programming, and engineering (BACnet in particular).

Knowledge of IT/IoT technologies (HTML, OPC, SNMP, REST, MQTT, IP network management); Niagara Framework is an asset.

Strong customer service orientation; English proficiency; French or another European language is a plus.

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; strong collaboration across cultures.

Travel Requirements Up to 50% travel, mostly to the US. A valid passport is required.

Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $64,300.00 to $115,700.00. Placement within the range depends on experience and location.
