Job Summary Under the direction of the school assistant principal, to perform a variety of duties associated with supervision of students on campus, and to do related work as required.
Responsibilities
Supervise and patrol the student parking lot by controlling the speed of cars, loitering in cars, unauthorized cars on campus, and proper parking of cars;
Patrol areas such as the auditorium, gym, locker room, and restrooms in an attempt to stop smoking, vandalism, bullying, and other at-risk behaviors in these areas;
Assist in supervising student activity areas and library during lunch period;
Assist in general supervision of campus as directed by the assistant principal;
Assist in afternoon bus loading as needed;
Report any inappropriate activities or unauthorized persons on or around campus to school administrators;
Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
Perform related duties as assigned.
Work directly with students to model and promote diversity awareness;
Respond to teacher requests for assistance in the classroom;
Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Methods and practices for maintaining safety and efficiency within school operations;
Ability to operate a two-way radio and computer keyboard;
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and students;
Skill in motivating, encouraging, and assisting students;
Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
