What You'll Do The Low Voltage Hardware team designs circuit boards which control hundreds of devices (motors, sensors, LEDs, etc) across all electrical systems (seats, doors, HVAC, powertrain, safety, chassis, lighting, etc) in Tesla vehicles.
Start-to-finish hardware ownership: Specification, architecture, design, simulation, schematic, layout supervision, manufacturing, bringup, and validation of circuit boards
Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, program management, and validation teams
Thoroughly document design requirements, calculations, validation results, etc.
Rapidly iterate as design requirements and product features mature over time
What You'll Bring
Circuit board design (Altium preferred)
Strong understanding of analog & digital circuits (MOSFETs, op-amps, switching regulators, gate drivers, microcontrollers, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, component selection, power dissipation, etc.)
Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to tackle open-ended challenges using first-principles
Proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, electronic loads, etc.)
Experience shipping high-volume circuit boards preferred
Basic programming ability (Python preferred)
Knowledge of automotive design requirements preferred
Design for autonomous vehicles (fail-safe redundancy) preferred

Expected Compensation $100,160 - $225,840/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
