Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organized, and laboratory-focused Senior or Principal Research Associate to play a key role in designing and executing cell-based assays and developing new platforms to evaluate proprietary compounds. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. Key Responsibilities
Design research experiments and independently execute studies. Perform in vitro cellular assays to profile compounds and support mechanism-of-action studies for potential anti-cancer therapeutics. Generate engineered cell lines for screening assays. Maintain and culture tumor and non-tumorigenic cell lines. Conduct cell-based assays (e.g., CellTiter-Glo, IncuCyte, colony formation) to evaluate viability and proliferation. Analyze and interpret data, prepare presentations, and report findings in team meetings. Troubleshoot assays to ensure high-quality results. Collaborate closely with scientists to align work with project goals. Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, or related discipline. 2+ years of relevant research experience, preferably in drug discovery within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Expertise in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques. Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, viability measurements (siRNA/shRNA, small molecule screening), protein analysis (Western blot), gene expression (qRT-PCR), and other functional/molecular biology assays. Experience with flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, or 3D spheroid assays is a plus. Ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot new cell-based assays. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities. Detail-oriented with a collaborative mindset and a passion for integrating basic science into drug discovery. Seniority level
