Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organized, and laboratory-focused Senior or Principal Research Associate to play a key role in designing and executing cell-based assays and developing new platforms to evaluate proprietary compounds. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer.
Key Responsibilities
- Design research experiments and independently execute studies.
- Perform in vitro cellular assays to profile compounds and support mechanism-of-action studies for potential anti-cancer therapeutics.
- Generate engineered cell lines for screening assays.
- Maintain and culture tumor and non-tumorigenic cell lines.
- Conduct cell-based assays (e.g., CellTiter-Glo, IncuCyte, colony formation) to evaluate viability and proliferation.
- Analyze and interpret data, prepare presentations, and report findings in team meetings.
- Troubleshoot assays to ensure high-quality results.
- Collaborate closely with scientists to align work with project goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, or related discipline.
- 2+ years of relevant research experience, preferably in drug discovery within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Expertise in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques.
- Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, viability measurements (siRNA/shRNA, small molecule screening), protein analysis (Western blot), gene expression (qRT-PCR), and other functional/molecular biology assays.
- Experience with flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, or 3D spheroid assays is a plus.
- Ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot new cell-based assays.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Detail-oriented with a collaborative mindset and a passion for integrating basic science into drug discovery.
