Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organized, and laboratory-focused Senior or Principal Research Associate to play a key role in designing and executing cell-based assays and developing new platforms to evaluate proprietary compounds. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for the treatment of cancer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design research experiments and independently execute studies.
  • Perform in vitro cellular assays to profile compounds and support mechanism-of-action studies for potential anti-cancer therapeutics.
  • Generate engineered cell lines for screening assays.
  • Maintain and culture tumor and non-tumorigenic cell lines.
  • Conduct cell-based assays (e.g., CellTiter-Glo, IncuCyte, colony formation) to evaluate viability and proliferation.
  • Analyze and interpret data, prepare presentations, and report findings in team meetings.
  • Troubleshoot assays to ensure high-quality results.
  • Collaborate closely with scientists to align work with project goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in cancer biology, cell biology, molecular biology, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant research experience, preferably in drug discovery within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Expertise in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with cell-based assays, viability measurements (siRNA/shRNA, small molecule screening), protein analysis (Western blot), gene expression (qRT-PCR), and other functional/molecular biology assays.
  • Experience with flow cytometry, immunofluorescence, or 3D spheroid assays is a plus.
  • Ability to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot new cell-based assays.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Detail-oriented with a collaborative mindset and a passion for integrating basic science into drug discovery.
