Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its team in the Corte Madera, CA office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law and possess excellent research, writing, and organizational skills. The Family Law Associate will handle all aspects of assigned cases, from drafting pleadings and discovery to attending court hearings and negotiating settlements. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients, manage case files, and contribute to the overall success of the firm’s family law practice.
Location:
Duties:
Draft pleadings, including declarations, points and authorities, and legal research related to family law matters
Respond to motions regarding spousal support, child support, child custody, property-related issues, and other family law concerns
Draft, review, and assess discovery responses; handle meet and confer letters and motions to compel
Prepare and review declarations of disclosure and ensure compliance with court requirements
Work with essential family law forms and file official documents as required
Manage a steady schedule of court appearances, hearings, and client conferences
Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and experts
Respond promptly to clients’ urgent needs and provide regular updates regarding case progress
Conduct negotiations and settlements using strong persuasion and debate skills
Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of 2-4 years of family law experience
Strong experience in drafting family law pleadings, discovery, and legal research
Knowledge of family law forms and filing procedures
Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
Proven negotiation, communication, and client service skills
Comfortable attending court hearings and advocating for clients
Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team
Strong organizational and time management skills
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
California State Bar Admission (required)
Skills:
Excellent legal research and writing abilities
Experience with family law pleadings, discovery, and motions
Strong communication and client management skills
Skilled in negotiation and dispute resolution
Ability to manage high caseloads and prioritize effectively
Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and deadlines
