You will work closely with our senior partners and associates, conduct legal research, draft documents, and maintain client files. Responsibilities
Create legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice
Manage and handle a caseload of family law matters from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, declarations, and settlement agreements
Appear at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials as needed
Conduct legal research and develop case strategies tailored to each client’s goals
Advise and guide clients through emotionally sensitive legal processes with professionalism and empathy
Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys to ensure deadlines are met and client service remains exceptional
Engage in mediation and collaborative divorce processes in addition to litigation
Qualifications
Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam
Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Active California Bar License in good standing
Active member of local bar association
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong legal research, analysis, and drafting abilities
Ability to manage multiple cases independently and meet deadlines
High level of professionalism, integrity, and client service
Preferred
Certified Family Law Specialist (C.F.L.S.) designation or actively pursuing certification
Minimum 2–5 years of experience practicing family law
Familiarity with mediation and collaborative divorce processes
Courtroom and trial experience in family law matters
Compensation $150,000 - $250,000 yearly DOE
