Principal Fabrication Manufacturing Engineer - R10201790 at Northrop Grumman, based in Sunnyvale, CA. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance Type: Secret. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time. Responsibilities

Develop new processes, improve existing manufacturing processes, and develop the required tooling and fixtures with an excellent team of experienced assembly mechanics, machinists, welders and engineers. Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures and fabrication processes. Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the manufacturing environment. Develop efficient process flows and sequences of operations, optimized production area layouts, manage bills of materials, create detailed work instructions, process procedures and tooling requirements with emphasis on safety, foreign object elimination and equipment/system maintenance. Support continuous improvement initiatives and implementation of new capital equipment for establishing expanded production processes. Collaborate with design engineering to ensure manufacturability and DFM considerations. Lead qualification and certification of welding processes and personnel. Work on site with occasional offsite work as approved. Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline with 3 or more years of experience. Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Experience with mechanical assembly processes, heat treatment of iron based products and welding. Experience with MIG, TIG, and resistance welding processes. Experience with welding symbols, codes, and standards. Experience with shop floor support. Experience in technical writing and presentations. Experience with MRP and/or SAP preferred. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required. Salary and Benefits

Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $150,500.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
