Overview
Position: RESEARCH SCIENTIST, Health Policy / Health Services Research. The Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR) at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is seeking a Research Scientist for a one-year grant-funded position to work on an NIH-funded clinical trial on smoking cessation using digital technologies in a dental setting. Specifically, the research scientist will assist with data management, analysis, and manuscript writing, including literature reviews. The position may also involve assisting with analysis and manuscript writing of a qualitative sub-study of this trial as well as grant writing. Responsibilities
Assist with data management, analysis, and manuscript writing for an NIH-funded clinical trial on smoking cessation using digital technologies in a dental setting. Conduct literature reviews and assist with analysis and manuscript writing for a qualitative sub-study and grant proposals. Join a growing dynamic group of health psychologists and behavioral medicine experts, research staff and postdoctoral associates working on several ongoing projects; opportunities for professional development. Support project management and ensure timely completion of tasks with attention to detail. Qualifications
Advanced degree (MA, MS, PhD) in psychology, public health, or related social science field. Evidence of experience with manuscript writing and data analysis. Fluent computer and analytic skills (SAS or SPSS or equivalent, reference management programs, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Previous experience with manuscript writing, data management and analysis; strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail; ability to work with a team in a professional manner. Prefer 3-5 years' experience. Previous experience in tobacco-related research is a plus. Compensation
