Overview


Position: RESEARCH SCIENTIST, Health Policy / Health Services Research. The Center for Behavioral Science Research (CBSR) at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is seeking a Research Scientist for a one-year grant-funded position to work on an NIH-funded clinical trial on smoking cessation using digital technologies in a dental setting. Specifically, the research scientist will assist with data management, analysis, and manuscript writing, including literature reviews. The position may also involve assisting with analysis and manuscript writing of a qualitative sub-study of this trial as well as grant writing.


Responsibilities



  • Assist with data management, analysis, and manuscript writing for an NIH-funded clinical trial on smoking cessation using digital technologies in a dental setting.

  • Conduct literature reviews and assist with analysis and manuscript writing for a qualitative sub-study and grant proposals.

  • Join a growing dynamic group of health psychologists and behavioral medicine experts, research staff and postdoctoral associates working on several ongoing projects; opportunities for professional development.

  • Support project management and ensure timely completion of tasks with attention to detail.


Qualifications



  • Advanced degree (MA, MS, PhD) in psychology, public health, or related social science field.

  • Evidence of experience with manuscript writing and data analysis.

  • Fluent computer and analytic skills (SAS or SPSS or equivalent, reference management programs, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Previous experience with manuscript writing, data management and analysis; strong organizational and time management skills; attention to detail; ability to work with a team in a professional manner.

  • Prefer 3-5 years' experience.

  • Previous experience in tobacco-related research is a plus.
