Overview
Electrical Design Engineer
at Sciaky, located in Chicago, IL. This role focuses on electrical and controls design for Sciaky products in a cost‑effective manner, following our Quality Management Systems to assure compliance with standards and specifications. The position is based at our Chicago office (near Midway Airport) and offers a complete and competitive compensation and benefits package. Responsibilities
Design system schematics, electrical wiring and panel layouts for Sciaky products. Apply knowledge of servo and motion control; interpret product/machine specifications to meet customer requirements with minimal supervision. Design power distribution, process controls and drive systems; familiarity with equipment powered by 480/400/600/220 VAC 3‑phase, 50/60 Hz, up to 10 to 400 amps (international requirements). Ensure designs conform to electrical standards and safety codes. Release electrical drawing packages for manufacture with strong documentation and revision control. Design with EPLAN Electric P8 and Bentley MicroStation V8; create documentation for electrical panels (assembly and wiring drawings, BOMs, layout drawings). Size and specify electrical components (circuit breakers, fuses, contactors, relays, low‑voltage power supplies, transformers, terminal strips, I/O devices, wire ducts). Interface electrical panels with process control and motion system components (brushless motor drives, stepper motor drives, PLCs, CNCs). Collaborate with cross‑functional teams; typically five to ten years of experience designing industrial electrical/electronic equipment for use in manufacturing (aerospace, automotive, etc.). U.S. citizenship required. Position requires full‑time work at the Sciaky facility in Chicago, IL. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience. Five years of electrical engineering experience. Experience designing to established industry quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Proficiency using computer‑based data entry systems such as MS Office. Position Details
