Under the direction of the Director of Applications Development, and with a high degree of individual responsibility, the incumbent performs full-stack web application development, including application design, analysis, programming, release planning, maintenance, and support for Academic Affairs Information Technology (AAIT) and its supported units (Offices of the Chancellor, Finance and Resource Management, Budget and Planning, Executive Vice Chancellor, Academic Personnel, Academic Senate, Title IX Compliance and Discrimination and Harassment Prevention, Education Partnership, Ombuds, College of Creative Studies, Teaching and Learning, and Instructional Development). Solution scope includes core web applications, data stores, interfaces, and processes that include moderate to complex interactions between staff, faculty, and committees. The incumbent builds interfaces using data from various systems, including relational databases, semi-structured data sources, and web service APIs. The incumbent will lead and participate in the development and migration to new technologies of information systems and functionality, identifying strategies and opportunities for innovation and automation. Leads and participates in multiple cross-functional and cross-organizational mission critical projects. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-3 years experience in applications development. Experience developing conversion and system implementation plans. Demonstrated understanding of modern web development, user experience and design, and web accessibility standards. Preferred Qualifications
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with a diverse group of technical and functional staff. Experience utilizing broad problem solving skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Special Conditions of Employment
