The Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery team is focused on delivering smarter, less invasive, and more personalized surgical solutions. This role leads the global pricing strategy for Robotics and Digital Solutions across the product lifecycle and collaborates with cross-functional partners to optimize value, pricing, and profitability.

Location The preferred location is Santa Clara, CA. Some consideration may be given for remote work within the United States. This role will be based in Santa Clara, CA and may require up to 20% travel (international and domestic).

Key Responsibilities

Support development and execution of pricing strategy across the product lifecycle—from pre-launch to discontinuation—through price setting and price getting.

Collaborate with Global Strategic Marketing (GSM), Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA), and other cross-functional partners to develop data- and research-driven pricing recommendations that drive Robotics & Digital Solutions strategies while delivering value to customers and required gross profitability.

Partner with regional and country Marketing, Pricing, Sales & Contracting, and Finance to aid implementation of pricing guidance in list prices, contracts, tenders, etc.

Advise on business/commercial models, including capital pricing, lease, rental, pay-per-procedure, outcomes-based models, and subscription pricing models.

Measure and report KPIs such as ASPs, portfolio mix, and profitability to inform strategy and improve global capabilities, policies, and processes.

Forecast future pricing to support short- and long-term financial planning.

Identify opportunities to grow gross profit via pricing and to improve performance of underperforming contracts.

Lead deal excellence by collaborating with internal stakeholders and consolidating/reporting the end-to-end deal lifecycle (in-flight, win/loss, performance).

Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field. MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.

Required Skills And Experience

Minimum of 10 years of business experience.

At least 5 years of pricing, marketing, contracting, finance, or strategic planning experience in a highly regulated environment.

Strong data-driven, customer-focused problem-solving; balance of quantitative and qualitative skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Solid understanding of financial and economic metrics, including price elasticity of demand.

Strong knowledge of the U.S. healthcare market, trends, customer dynamics, and compliance considerations (preferred).

Ability to collaborate across functions, regions, and levels; strong influencing and negotiation skills.

Comfort with ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete data.

Strong prioritization, project and time management, and organizational skills.

Executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders.

Preferred Skills And Experience

Experience with pricing-focused primary market research (conjoint analysis, discrete choice modeling, Van Westendorp, etc.).

Experience with alternative business models (pricing capital, software/SaaS).

Experience in the medical device industry, especially Surgery and related devices.

Experience working across multiple geographies in a complex business environment.

Experience building pricing capabilities within organizations and in negotiations with customers.

Experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools.

This role is based in Santa Clara, CA, and may require up to 20% travel (international and domestic).

Compensation: Bay Area base pay range $167,000 to $289,800; outside Bay Area base pay range $146,000 to $251,850.
