Position Overview The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of various clientele. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with nonprofit organizations and prior experience with month-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

Process and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.

Prepare and post journal entries, including month-end and year-end closing entries.

Manage grants processes.

Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Participate in month-end and year-end close activities.

Budgeting and forecasting.

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payment and collection.

Maintain accurate and organized financial records, including grant and fund accounting.

Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets and track spending.

Support audit preparation and respond to auditor requests.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial reporting requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field.

4+ years of accounting experience within a nonprofit organization.

Prior experience with accounting systems.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
