Job Responsibilities As the Head of Finance of BrewDog USA, you will be expected to drive business results through analysis and education of the multifunctional team. You will be an expert on US accounting practices and the liaison between UK central accounting and the US team. Other responsibilities include:
Act as a strategic partner to the USA COO & CSMO
Manage overall budgeting & forecast updates process for the US business including direct management of the demand planner role
US GAAP expert for UK accounting team – ensuring local requirements are understood/met by central accounting team including leadership on monthly P&L and BS reviews to ensure books are accurate
Oversight of SEC reporting and audit process. Ensuring accurate financial statements.
Lead financial analysis for all channels of the business ensuring accurate data is used to make data driven decisions on promotions, pricing, events etc.
Cost accounting and margin analysis to drive profitability – SAP Key user with responsibility for setting & maintaining standard cost and variance analysis
Develop, deploy, and maintain cost models to support budgets for various operating expense accounts including marketing, repairs, food/drink, labor for both brewery & retail business.
Management of the direct and indirect tax processes with help of a third-party including income, excise, and sales tax processes.
Manage various third-party relationships.
Reporting Structure Reporting to the COO of BrewDog USA. The Head of Finance will lead a dedicated team consisting of a demand planner & staff accountant while having significant influence on the UK accounting team when it comes to US books.
About You Qualifications
7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; a Master\'s degree is a plus.
Professional certifications such as CPA a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and timelines.
In-depth knowledge of cost accounting/budgeting principles
Strong analytical skills with a natural curiosity to explore data, draw conclusions and spur action
ERP experience required with SAP Business One
Great communicator with the ability to work with all functions and levels within the company
Technology and Systems Proficiency in Microsoft 365, SAP Business One, TOAST, NCR Aloha, SQL Server, and Power Query M is essential. The ability to navigate diverse systems for business insights is crucial.
