Senior Associate Vice President for Technology & Innovation The Sr. Associate Vice President for Technology and Innovation (Sr. AVP-TI) drives bold, forward-thinking technology leadership for USF Advancement, which includes the USF Foundation and USF Alumni Association. Reporting to the CEO and serving on the Executive Leadership Team, the Sr. AVP-TI shapes and executes a transformative technology strategy that fuels innovation, enhances digital capabilities, and strengthens operational performance. As a catalyst for change, the Sr. AVP-TI builds a modern technology ecosystem that amplifies USF Advancement’s impact and supports the University of South Florida’s vision for excellence.

The Sr. AVP-TI leads a team of 16 information and technology professionals currently organized into four pillars within the department of Technology Innovation and Strategic Solutions: Systems and Infrastructure, Data Analytics, Innovation and IT Strategy and Central Records/Gift Processing.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Vision

Shape and advance a bold technology strategy that anticipates future needs, fuels innovation and positions USF Advancement at the forefront of digital excellence.

Drive the strategic evaluation, adoption, and integration of emerging AI technologies to enhance operational efficiency, foster innovation, and maintain a competitive edge across all business functions.

Inspire and mentor high-performing technology teams, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Contribute to division-wide strategic planning as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, ensuring technology alignment with organizational goals.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

Champion change with empathy and clarity, empowering teams to embrace digital transformation and foster a connected, collaborative and high-performing workplace.

Proactively engage stakeholders to ensure solutions are not only effective—but enthusiastically adopted

Promote a data-informed culture by equipping stakeholders with the tools and training for confident decision-making.

Cultivate strategic vendor and partner relationships to ensure successful execution of key initiatives.

Operational Oversight and Resource Management

Oversee the design, integration and optimization of secure, data-driven systems that support fundraising, engagement, and strategic initiatives.

Lead and facilitate the work of staff, stakeholders and vendors to ensure successful development, testing, implementation and maintenance of the Ellucian constituent relationship management (CRM) system and associated technology tools/platforms.

Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy and security standards across all platforms and processes. Continually reinforces a culture of protecting donor and alumni data.

Align technology investments with strategic priorities, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.

Establish performance metrics and feedback loops to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Measures of Success Success in this role will be defined by the development and execution of a visionary technology strategy aligned with USF Advancement’s goals; the modernization and seamless integration of data-driven systems (including Ellucian CRM); and the creation of a culture of innovation, security, and collaboration. The Sr. AVP-TI will be expected to deliver measurable improvements in digital engagement, operational efficiency, stakeholder satisfaction, and data-informed decision-making—while inspiring and retaining a high-performing team and demonstrating responsible stewardship of resources.

Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum of 10 years of related exempt level experience, including seven years of managerial experience, preferably in large complex institutions or organizations. Requires experience in leading multiple teams, projects, programs, and/or functions.
