Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with three years of experience to support complex business disputes and transactional litigation matters. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior partners, manage client relationships, and develop trial-ready skills in a collaborative environment. Location: Lake Oswego, Oregon. Duties
Manage all phases of commercial litigation matters, from pre-filing through trial and appeal. Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses. Conduct detailed legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive issues. Prepare clients, witnesses, and exhibits for depositions and trial testimony. Assist with alternative dispute resolution processes, including arbitration and mediation. Collaborate with partners and senior associates on case strategy and client advisement. Monitor deadlines and case milestones to ensure compliance with court rules. Requirements
3 years of hands-on commercial litigation experience at a reputable law firm. Admission to the Oregon State Bar in good standing. Proven ability to manage a substantial caseload and meet tight deadlines. Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills. Demonstrated experience in motion practice and trial preparation. Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school. Active bar license in Oregon. Any additional state bar admissions (preferred but not required). Skills
Advanced legal research proficiency (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis). Exceptional drafting and editing abilities. Effective negotiation and client-counseling skills. Adept at case management software and e-filing systems. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively. Benefits
