Overview
Coordinator of the Adult Learning Center & College Readiness Center (Sr Special Program Coordinator) at North Shore Community College. This MCCC Unit Professional position, Grade 5, is DESE grant funded for a 12-month position. Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week (100% FTE) including minimal evening hours. Salary: Anticipated starting salary is $70,929.00 - $75,000.00; actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. ALC Leadership - manage policies and coordinate the curriculum and operations of the ALC Danvers day and Lynn evening programs while providing coordination, observing classrooms, reviewing lesson plans, facilitating semimonthly all-staff meetings, providing check-ins to ALC staff teams (special program coordinator, instructors, academic and career counselors, intake coordinator) for both the Danvers day and Lynn evening programs, and fostering professional growth of staff in a center culture of continuous improvement in service to effective instruction. General ABE Leadership - inform the College's planning around ABE and lead regional community planning, outreach and collaboration efforts while providing guidance and support to Gloucester site, including classroom observations, lesson plan oversight, and instructor feedback. Grants and Administrative Tasks - prepare applications, oversee budget planning and expenses, review data and complete reports for DESE grants. Collaborations - work with ALC staff, other college departments, community agencies, WIOA 'shared customer' agencies, and DESE Program Specialist to accomplish grant goals. Student Contact - for the Danvers day and Lynn evening programs, facilitate new student orientation; serve as classroom substitute teacher; oversee and conduct student follow up; provide ongoing student support; oversee applications and distribution of Here to Help funds designated for ALC students. Trainings/Meetings/Travel - attend grant-related professional development and College trainings and meetings; travel between campuses and to other sites as warranted. Collaborate on the coordination of the MassSTEP IT Technology and TechRise grant programs in order to accomplish grant goals. Supervise the coordination of the ABE Aztec Distance Learning cohort of students. Submit data as needed and monitor the statewide LACES database system for student attendance, measurable skills gains, and educational or career outcomes. Other duties as assigned. Supervision

Master's degree required and three years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Sophisticated understanding of culturally responsive curriculum development. Understanding of student outcome data through the diversity, equity and inclusion lens. Demonstrated leadership and management abilities. Experience organizing community members or organizations around a common issue or goal. Ability to manage diverse responsibilities within a context of diplomacy and good judgment. Demonstrated communication skills. Successful experience interacting with culturally diverse populations. CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment. Preferred
Program coordination experience highly preferred. Experience writing or managing grants preferred. Related counseling experience with the target population preferred. Experience with adult education preferred. Additional Information
