FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus, the leading provider of original programming in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market, is looking for a driven and impactful Senior Multimedia News Producer to join our award-winning team. As a vital part of Fox Corporation and Fox Television Stations, you will lead content creation and mentor junior staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional television broadcast, digital, and streaming programming. The ideal candidate will have a masterful approach to showcasing content and pitching story ideas that resonate across all platforms. Responsibilities
Production Leadership: Oversee the daily production of assigned newscasts and multimedia projects, guiding the editorial process from pitch to post-production and ensuring high journalistic standards. Content Strategy and Creation: Develop and execute authentic segments, craft compelling stories, build rundowns, and edit scripts for various media formats; lead content strategy and drive innovative segments and special reports. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor editors, anchors, reporters, and control room staff to ensure technically seamless multimedia programming. Visual Direction: Direct the visual storytelling by coordinating with assignment desks and field crews on live shots, graphics, video, and logistics. Digital Mastery: Champion our digital strategy, integrating web and social media with on-air broadcasts to maximize audience engagement across platforms. Active Participation: Contribute to daily editorial, department, and production meetings with strategic insights. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, reporting to the Executive Producer. Your Profile
Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field. Experience: Minimum five years of experience as a producer in a large television market, with a proven track record of success and progressive responsibility. Skills: Exceptional news judgment, superior writing and storytelling, and expert knowledge of current events. Leadership and Mentoring: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment. Seniority level
