Reporting to the AVPUESS, the Director of GenEdCI manages and advances the design, implementation, and integration of undergraduate curricular initiatives and academic policies within the purview of the VPUESS. Initiatives may involve collaboration with Georgia Tech administrative and/or academic units and/or USG partners; responsibilities include General Education/Core IMPACTS, GLRs, undergraduate academic policies, undergraduate minors and certificates, and dual enrollment. The position may supervise staff and may teach an undergraduate General Education/Core IMPACTS course, contingent on approvals. Responsibilities

The Director acts as an ambassador for OUESS and collaborates with OUESS and UC leadership to advance the Institute’s mission and priorities. The Director will foster collaborative relationships and support OUESS, the ISP, and VPUESS/AVPUESS priorities. The Director's Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

Under the leadership of the AVPUESS, support GT's general education policies, practices, and processes, and serve as a point of contact for general education policies and practices. Serve as a standing (ex officio) member of the Institute Undergraduate Curriculum Committee (IUCC) General Education & Policy Subcommittee (GEPS). Collaborate with the Office of Academic Effectiveness (OAE) on general education assessment. Assist with the preparation of narratives for accreditation and other reports and maintain and update the UC General Education website. Attend meetings or conferences relevant to general education policies, practices, and processes. Oversee GT's implementation of the GLRs, including supporting academic units in undergraduate curriculum leadership, faculty, and academic advisors. Obtain and analyze data regarding GLR for-credit courses and GLR non-credit Canvas modules; engage with USG partners and GT units to maintain and update GT's GLR implementation. Prepare narratives and other reports on the GLRs and maintain the UC GLR webpage. Attend meetings or conferences relevant to GT's implementation of the GLRs. Serve as a member of the joint OUESS and Registrar's Office Undergraduate Curriculum Operations & Advisory Team (UCOAT) and contribute to its initiatives and recommendations. Serve as a standing guest on the Student Rules and Regulations Committee on behalf of VPUESS/AVPUESS to provide input on policies related to undergraduate education and ensure stakeholders are briefed on approved policies. Provide support for, and potentially lead, other curricular initiatives as assigned by the AVPUESS or VPUESS. Work with OUESS committees, documenting meeting notes and coordinating follow-up. Compile notes and updates on GT and USG curricular policy initiatives and communicate updates to academic advisors and OUESS leadership. Lead the organization, planning, and delivery of semi-annual OUESS Curricular Updates for academic advisors. Initiate analyses of policies and data and translate findings into proposals and plans for improvements aligned with OUESS, ISP, and partner units. Prepare reports, websites, and other documentation regarding undergraduate curricular matters as requested by AVPUESS or VPUESS. Perform other special projects and analyses as assigned. Teach one General Education/Core IMPACTS course per academic year, contingent on course approvals. Serve as a member of the OUESS leadership team and contribute to OUESS units, programs, and services as requested. Required Qualifications

Internal (GT) Applicants Current full-time GT appointment as tenured or tenure-track faculty at any rank or as academic professional at any rank. Six (6) years or more as a Senior Academic Professional (or equivalent rank). Preferred Qualifications

Experience with curricular initiatives. Experience in leading or contributing to curricular policy initiatives and/or policy implementation. Experience in developing or contributing to proposals and plans for improvements in systems and processes in higher education. Experience teaching in the General Education curriculum. Experience in academic advising. Experience in expanding access and supporting student success. Completed terminal degree in an academic discipline appropriate to the role. Academic qualifications appropriate to serve as lead instructor for a course in the GT General Education/Core IMPACTS curriculum. A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education, including undergraduate teaching experience. Commitment to and capacity to act as an ambassador in supporting and promoting the mission of OUESS, the ISP, and the priorities and goals of the VPUESS and AVPUESS. Strong understanding of undergraduate curriculum design. Strong understanding of General Education principles and practices. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent collaborative skills, including the capacity to collaborate respectfully and effectively with academic and administrative leadership, faculty, advisors, staff, students, and others within GT and the USG as well as other stakeholders and partners. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to use technologies and software employed in professional office settings. Proposed Salary
