Supervisor, Technical Training (Underground)

Role: Supervisor, Technical Training (Underground) at Eversource Energy. This position develops and conducts technical training programs to ensure the safe and effective performance of Underground (UG) Operations - Splicers. Training includes classroom and on-the-job instruction, incorporating both conceptual and hands-on methods. Responsibilities include testing and evaluating new tools, materials, and equipment; revising and maintaining standards and procedures; conducting quality assurance audits; and supervising, evaluating, and certifying field employees. Responsibilities

Work with field personnel and supervisors to analyze job tasks and current field performance to determine training needs and program content. Effectively implement training programs and field quality audit programs. Supervise, direct and instruct trainees during classroom, hands-on and on-the-job training assignments. Evaluate performance during training and follow up on students’ learning through field visits, observations and refresher training. Provide updates and incorporate new procedures and revisions into training programs; review work with vendors, technical experts, engineers, and field personnel to provide input into the selection and operation of new equipment and the development of new construction standards. Technical Knowledge/Skills

Requires knowledge of utility transmission and distribution system design, operations, maintenance, and construction principles and practices, safety standards and business processes. Excellent communication skills; ability to present theory and concepts, as well as hands-on technical instruction with clarity, confidence and enthusiasm. Leadership and coaching abilities. Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel). Working knowledge of labor contracts. Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline or equivalent experience. Experience

Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Transmission, Distribution and/or Field Service design and/or installation, servicing customers and supervising employees. Licenses & Certifications

Massachusetts Driver’s License; DOT preferred. Working Conditions

Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required. Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. Compensation and Benefits

Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position is eligible for a potential incentive. The annual salary range is $119,340.00 - $132,600.00. Job Details
