OSP/Communications Engineer Duration:

Open Description: This individual must have advanced outside plant design knowledge, capable of designing work orders, providing administrative and field support for outside plant provisioning, and familiar with concepts such as copper, fiber optic, and coax cables. Must utilize facility analysis to select areas for rehabilitation, coordinate field work, prepare work order drawings, and update documentation accurately and promptly. Also responsible for report analysis, estimating expenditures, and preparing joint use memos. Must understand telephone industry standards, be able to access, read, and interpret mechanized assignment records, PC applications, OSP records, and CAD systems. Able to interact with all required online computer systems. Knowledge of infrastructure plans (highway, sewer, bridge, etc.) and survey data is essential to avoid conflicts with existing and proposed underground utilities and obstacles, ensuring proper installation within easements and public rights of way.
