For the event minded guests, there will be 20,000 feet of meeting space that includes impressive historic ballrooms and a 3,000 square foot rooftop event patio.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Finance and managing one direct report, the Purchasing Director assists the Finance and Operational Departments in the controlled procurement, receipt, control and disbursement of goods. Monitor, report and control cost of sales and inventory management. This position works primarily Monday through Friday, however, flexibility for evenings, occasional weekends, and variable hours based on hotel business needs is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure purchasing, receiving and other functional compliance as defined in the Hyatt Hotels Accounting P&P (Policy and Procedures), Accounting MOR (Management Operational Review), F&B (Food & Beverage) MOR, and other related MOR guidelines. Oversee and direct all purchasing, receiving & F&B storeroom staff. Monitor vendors for quality, service and price through standard purchasing specifications. Ensure compliance with all legal, health, and safety regulations and internal audits. Ensure that all orders are properly received per policy in the hotel systems. Ensure the efficient operation of the Purchasing Department in all aspects. Research and identify new products and services for the hotel. Responsible for all administrative functions of the Purchasing & Receiving Department, staffing, training and execution of other related duties. Handle invoices, purchasing and related accounting issues and perform monthly reconciliations of receiving records and outstanding records. Responsible for overseeing the physical control and organization and cleanliness of the hotel food and beverage storerooms, and the main loading dock. Responsible for maintaining logical storeroom inventory levels operationally needed. Ability to evaluate menu costs and potentials vs. actual. Analyze cost control reports and makes recommendations for improvements. Perform other duties as assigned.
