Laboratory Informatics Technical Lead/LIS Manager
Manages the daily operation of the laboratory information system to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and accreditation agencies. Acts as the primary contact for data management between laboratory personnel, vendors, IT professionals, and stakeholders. Builds relationships with the LIS software supplier and maintains broad communication channels. Consults on laboratory data standards, procedures, and services using APHL core competencies as a template. Plans and coordinates quality improvement efforts with QA/QC through audits and other methods. Troubleshoots the laboratory information system, workstations, internet software, or web-based cloud information to ensure timely results submission. Performs administrative functions for LIS users and other software applications. Collaborates with vendors to develop and troubleshoot instrument interfaces. Assists laboratory personnel with technological and desktop computer functions. Ensures security standards are in compliance with laws and accreditation agencies. Performs related work as assigned. Experience/Qualifications Required:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field, or 8 years of professional IT experience. Experience in IT integration, system architecting, software analysis, and implementation. Proficiency in programming languages such as PL-SQL and C++. Experience working with HL7 messaging standards.
