Clinical Nurse Educator - Surgical Services

The Clinical Nurse Educator reports to the Assistant Director and Director of Surgical Services. They are responsible for inservice and clinical education of department staff, as well as understanding the delivery of direct nursing care to all patient populations on this unit. The Educator possesses skills and knowledge to provide competent services to staff and patients. Requirements
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent, with current licensure in California. BSN degree required; Master's in Nursing or Education preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years recent acute care hospital Operating Room experience. CNOR certification required. Ability to assess, plan, organize, teach, and evaluate student performance. American Heart Association Provider BLS certification required. Within 24 months of hire, completion of AORN Clinical Educator Certification Course. Skills and Certifications
Minimum of 5-7 years recent acute care hospital OR experience? CNOR certification? Experience teaching adult learners? Ideal Candidate
Has at least 5-7 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital, with scrubbing and circulating experience in various cases such as general, ortho, spine, neuro, gyn, ENT, and Ophthalmology. Experience as a nurse educator, curriculum planning, teaching adult learners, and evaluating performance is preferred. A Master's in Nursing is ideal but not required; BSN and CNOR certification are mandatory. All information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
