Schneider Electric’s Indirect Procurement team tackles fundamental business issues such as controlling costs, managing risk, and improving service - every day. Indirect Procurement expenditures account for 14% of total company revenue. We are currently seeking a visionary Global IT Category Director with a passion for technology, strategic sourcing, and world-class procurement to join our dynamic team. This position will be based out of our Boston, MA office.
Travel expectations can be up to 25%, primarily within the US, along with some international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically manage a spend of nearly €1.4 billion annually, driving significant cost savings and value creation.
- Report directly to the Global Vice President of Indirect Procurement, leading a high-performing team of approximately 20-25 professionals across the globe, and fostering strong relationships with Schneider Digital, R&D and business stakeholders.
- Lead the procurement activities for all IT-Telco-Professional Services categories, including Software, Hardware, Telecommunications, Professional Services, ensuring alignment with global business objectives.
- Develop and implement innovative, strategic initiatives to enhance service levels, optimize our operations, and drive continuous improvement across global regions.
- Collaborate as a key business partner with our Schneider Digital and R&D teams to drive spend reduction, service improvements, and supplier relationship management.
What qualifications will make you sucessfull for this position?
- Bachelor degree in IT, Business Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field is required. Master’s degree or procurement certification are a plus.
- Extensive experience in procurement / strategic sourcing of software, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful procurement strategies. Experience with other indirect categories such as Hardware and Professional Service.
- Demonstrated expertise in leveraging advanced digitization tools and technologies to drive strategic initiatives and enhance procurement processes.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree with 10+ years of progressive experience, including significant leadership roles in procurement and supply chain management. Superior negotiating skills and experience in a strategic and IT operational environment.
- High proficiency in relationship management, influence, and team building skills, with exceptional verbal/presentation and written communication skills in a complex organizational setting.
