Labor & Delivery RN Job Details Location: New Haven, CT 06510 (Connecticut healthcare jobs) Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center Unit: Labor & Delivery (WP 4 L&D) Employment Type: Travel Nursing Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30) Hours per Week: 36 Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/19/2025 - End: 12/19/2025) On-call Requirement: 16 hours per 6-week schedule block Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: Yes Orientation: 16 hours Charting System: Epic (Epic charting experience required) Scrub Color: Provided Parking: On-site ($125/month) Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1990-$2130 Labor & Delivery Nurse Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent experience in high-risk Labor & Delivery (Level I Trauma Center experience preferred) Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut (pending license accepted, must be active prior to start) BLS (Basic Life Support) certification NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification EPIC charting experience AWHONN Advanced certification preferred Ability to take scheduled on-call shifts Strong skills in high-risk delivery support, newborn assessment, and postpartum care Professional reference required Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Not accepting local candidates (must reside >75 miles from facility) Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities Deliver expert nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk antepartum and postpartum cases Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including circulating and scrubbing for C-sections Perform newborn assessments and provide neonatal resuscitation support Administer medications and therapies (Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, anticoagulants) Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns using EFM and IUPC Support breastfeeding and lactation needs for new mothers Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response) Maintain accurate documentation using Epic Participate in on-call rotation and provide coverage as scheduled Float within scope to meet facility needs as required Discover the energy and culture of New Haven while advancing your nursing career in Labor & Delivery.
