Ag. Equipment Operator
This job order is for a temporary/seasonal position in Covington, Garfield. Title: Ag. Equipment Operator. Dates of Contract: 5-1-25 to 12-1-25. Schedule: Monday to Saturday 7:30am to 4:30pm. Duties: Operating large farm equipment and machinery equipped with GPS such as tractor, planter, sprayer, combine for cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, planting, harvesting grain and oilseed crops such as soybeans, corn, hay and wheat; operating swather, raker, baler for swathing, raking, baling, stacking hay; adjusting in field settings of machinery such as flow rate of planter and sprayer, threshing settings of combines, monitoring screens in machinery to ensure appropriate operation; walking fields pulling off-type weeds; assisting with the operation and maintenance of center pivot irrigation systems for watering crops; working outside in adverse weather like wind, rain, dirt, heat, cold; basic reading and math skills; speak English; maintaining records of work performed on machinery and equipment; operate forklift for loading/unloading material; driving farm vehicle to obtain inputs for raising crops; minor and incidental daily upkeep to equipment and worksite.
Requirements: Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment. Pay: $15.79 -FLSA exempt: no overtime paid.
