The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents' needs.GCU maintains a partnership with City Hope Arizona located at 1640 W. Camelback Road, Phoenix, AZ, 85015. City Hope Arizona provides food, clothing, and hygiene products to those in need. The CSLP student worker's work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of City Hope Arizona; however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring).CSLP: This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, "Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need." These services must be open and accessible to the community.As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).Note: All FWS and FWS-CSLP positions require applicants to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at to be reviewed for FWS-eligibility and awarded FWS.Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/ Essential Functions:Restock products.Clean, organize, and maintain the facility.Unload box trucks (occasionally).Assist as needed.Equipment Used and Responsibility:MS Office SuiteQualifications:Have passion and willingness to help others succeed.Possess strong ethics, integrity, and sense of responsibility.Previous Mentoring a plus.Ability to speak a second language a plus.Must have reliable transportation.Experience/Education:Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
