Purchasing Warehouse Lead: AM 8 HOURS
Serves under Purchasing Supervisor. The primary responsibilities of the purchasing warehouse lead include retrieving, issuing, and stocking parts and materials. Expected duties include but are not limited to: Retrieving, issuing, and documenting parts and materials as they are received and dispersed. Receiving and taking delivery of parts and materials. Delivering parts and materials. Operating a forklift. Loading and unloading products, placing bales of cardboard, chemicals, machinery, etc., in warehouses and overhead storage racks. Unloading freight and chemicals from incoming deliveries. Dumping 2 cu yd dumpsters filled with trash, production residue, and waste materials into open top trash dumpsters and compactors. Retrieving chemicals from storage and delivering to departments. Assisting in training purchasing assistants. Parts investigation. Working with vendors to determine lead times or find alternative materials. Individuals must be attentive to detail and record keeping, including: Taking daily or cyclical inventories. Verifying on-hand inventories. Verifying incoming shipments. Posting receivers on computer system. Issuing materials from inventory on computer system. Filing paperwork systematically. Additional skills include: Legible handwriting for issue slips and inventories. Ability to read and interpret labels and placards. Accurate transcription of 12-digit numbers. Finding parts in the database for maintenance and other departments. Researching order, receiving, issue, return, and repair histories. Qualifications include a strong work ethic, dependability, ability to work independently, and a cooperative attitude. Preferred but not required are: Ability to speak/write Spanish. Strong computer skills. Familiarity with mechanical parts and materials. Maintenance experience. Experience with packaging materials and handling chemicals. Warehouse or stockroom experience.
