will

erform a full range of MR exams

in accordance with

move! Primary Duties: Performs full range of MR imaging procedures

in a timely manner

on all patient types as specified by protocol The ability to perform venipuncture, the injection of contrast media, and

non-narcotic

medication

required

for effective diagnostic imaging and scanning. Must adhere to the direction, policy and procedures as defined by physician modality director. Strict adherence to research guidelines for studies performed on patients

participating

in research studies. Must be able to fully

operate

MR IV Pumps and Monitors to

assist

nursing and Anesthesia staff.

Must be able to perform independently and adhere to the policies and procedures that apply to the performance of Advanced MR studies including, but not limited to all Cardiac MR studies, Full Body MR, MR Spectroscopy, TWIST imaging, use of NATIVE sequences, MR Lymphangiography, Dynamic studies of the Pelvis floor, MR Urography, MR Runoff, Functional MRI, Placental imaging,

LiverLab

, and MR guided procedures such as Breast Biopsy. This includes the administration of rectal and vaginal contrast agents when

indicated

.

Perform QA phantoms on a weekly basis and log data as required by the American College of Radiology

.

Assist Modality Supervisor and department leadership in the oversight of accreditation process and keeps abreast of requirements for The Joint Commission, DOH and other regulatory bodies.

Must be able to take on the role of charge technologist on a routine basis and be able to

assist

modality supervisor in the flow of patients to optimally process patients in a safe and effective manner. Must be able to

assist

in the training and development of other MR technologists as needed. Provides input to the Modality supervisor on the performance evaluations of Senior MR and MR technologists of the section.

Provides basic information to patients and/or families about procedures to be performed and can answer questions if asked.

Assists

with the upkeep of MR and related equipment, adheres to all related safety requirements and reports need for equipment repairs.

Has knowledge and

is able

to execute and enforce MR Safety standards and practices.

Serves in the role of MR Safety Officer when on duty. Takes active participation in management of inventory and supplies, including contacting vendors as needed. Coordinates MR special procedures .and use of devices. Supports modality supervisor in building, updating, and

ma

intaining

R protocols on the scanners

Monitors equipment, analyses potential reasons for system malfunction, contact Biomedical engineering department, and reports malfunction to log a ticket. Ensures

timely

completion of all exams through

tracking,

scanning and other technical

workflow

as related to Radiology Information System (RIS, Enterprise Radiology Solutions (ERS) and Enterprise Electronic Record (EMR) Coordinates and collaborates with Technical Aides to ensure efficient room turnover

.

Coordinates, communicates, and collaborates with Patient Financial Associates that register radiology exams to minimize delays and potential safety issues for the outpatient population

.

Qualifications: Graduate of an AMA approved of Radiology Technology (ARRT).

5 years' experience in MRI in a

hospital-based

setting.

AARMRIT or ARRT registry.

Basic Life Support (BLS).

Advanced certification in MRI preferred.
