Location: Chicago
Salary: $200,000 - $220,000 + bonus
Piper Maddox are partnered with an industry leading energy producer with around 9GW of operational power plants across the US. With a recent PE acquisition this business are moving into growth mode, and focused on building their clean energy assets across the US.
Working closely with the General Counsel, you will support a broad range of corporate, transactional, and project development activities. Working with cross-functional teams on matters related to project acquisition, development, construction, and operation of new and existing projects.
Base pay range $200,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including NDAs, land agreements, EPC agreements, and service contracts.
Support M&A transactions, including due diligence, document preparation, and closing processes.
Provide legal guidance on project development matters, including permitting, interconnection, and regulatory compliance.
Assist with corporate governance, entity formation, and compliance initiatives.
Coordinate with internal general counsel as well as third party legal resources.
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission (or eligibility for admission) to practice.
3+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department, ideally with exposure to energy, infrastructure, or project finance.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for the renewable energy sector and commitment to collaborative problem-solving.
