Job Summary ***This is a shipboard HR position requiring a contract of 4 months onboard followed by 2 months off, serving on one of our vessels based out of Florida.***
Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted onboard HR resource, providing support for employee relations, conflict resolution, and guidance toward appropriate outcomes. Advise and support leadership on HR policies, performance management, promotions, and progressive discipline, ensuring fair and consistent application. Oversee crew sign-on/sign-off and ensure compliance with immigration requirements and MLC standards. Conduct exit interviews and provide insights to the shoreside Director of Fleet Personnel. Lead leadership development through coaching, training, assessments, and constructive feedback. Maintain confidentiality of all employee-related information, including disciplinary and medical matters. Partner with department heads and the Senior Manager on promotions, interviews, succession planning, and personalized development plans. Identify and recommend improvements to crew areas, facilities, and onboard functions. Direct the Training & Development Manager to ensure effective leadership program delivery. Collaborate with the Staff Captain and Security Officer on onboard investigations. Build professional relationships with government officials, port agents, and partners to support operations. Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an HR Manager onboard a cruise ship or within a large, complex organization. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in employee relations, including investigations, grievance resolution, negotiations, and conflict management. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, CIPD certification, or equivalent field. Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, coaching, and leadership guidance.
