Overview We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President of North American Materials Management to lead sourcing, logistics, and production planning across our magnet wire manufacturing operations in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. This executive role is critical to ensuring the continuity, cost-efficiency, and quality of our materials supply chain, with a strong emphasis on the procurement and management of copper—our most essential raw material.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
Develop and execute North American sourcing strategies for raw materials, with a primary focus on copper used in magnet wire production. Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships across the region, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Monitor commodity markets, particularly copper, to mitigate risk and ensure long-term supply stability.
Materials Management & Logistics
Oversee the end-to-end flow of materials across North American facilities, including procurement, warehousing, and distribution. Optimize inventory levels and material availability to support production schedules and customer commitments. Manage regional logistics operations, including transportation, customs compliance, and third-party logistics providers.
Production Scheduling & Supply Chain Integration
Align material planning with production schedules across multiple sites in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Implement advanced planning tools and systems to improve visibility, responsiveness, and efficiency. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce lead times, improve service levels, and support lean manufacturing practices.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop a high-performing regional team across sourcing, logistics, and planning functions. Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Commercial teams to support cost-reduction initiatives and new product introductions. Promote sustainability and ethical sourcing practices, particularly in the procurement of copper and other critical materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA preferred. 15+ years of progressive experience in materials management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Extensive experience in the magnet wire industry, including a deep understanding of raw material requirements, insulation materials, and production processes. Demonstrated expertise in copper sourcing, including knowledge of North American copper markets, suppliers, and pricing dynamics. Familiarity with industry-specific standards and certifications (e.g., NEMA, UL, ISO) relevant to magnet wire manufacturing. Proven success managing complex supply chains across North America. Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills. Proficiency with ERP and planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kinaxis). Seniorit y level
