Edwards College of Dental Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites applications for a full-time Prosthodontic faculty position within the Department of Advanced Specialty Sciences, Division of Surgical Services and Applied Technology. This Department offers comprehensive training and clinical education across advanced dental specialties, including Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontology, and Digital Dentistry.

Responsibilities

Oversee and administer the graduate digital dentistry clinic and residency program.

Lead the Master’s Degree Program in Digital Dentistry and contribute to curriculum development and delivery in digital dentistry technologies such as 3D printing, CAD/CAM, and AI applications.

Facilitate collaborations with graduate programs (AEGD, Graduate Periodontics, Graduate Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and Graduate Endodontics) to promote integrated education in prosthodontics, esthetic dentistry, and implant dentistry using state-of-the-art technologies.

Support teaching and mentorship of students and residents; participate in scholarly activities including industry sponsorship and peer‑reviewed publications; pursue industry‑sponsored research.

Participate in Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care as required.

Qualifications

DDS or DMD degree or equivalent; completion of an accredited residency is preferred.

Board certification or eligibility for certification.

Demonstrated history of educational innovation and integration of digital dentistry technology in education; experience with teaching and mentorship; evidence of scholarly activity (publications, research).

South Carolina Dental License or eligibility for a teaching license.

Additional information Salary and rank are commensurate with experience. The program values participation in digital dentistry research and collaboration with industry.
