AWS/CES is seeking a Engineering Manager for our automotive manufacturing client in Clinton, TN

Schedule: Direct Hire
Pay rate:$85k-$140k DOE
Position Summary
The Die Casting Engineering Manager leads engineering initiatives within a die casting manufacturing environment, driving efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement. This role requires expertise in die design, process control, and project management, with a strong background in Japanese automotive manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, capable of managing teams, collaborating globally, and delivering innovative solutions. Occasional international travel (1-2 weeks at a time) is required to support global teams and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the design and development of die casting dies and trim tooling. Create and manage annual and semi-annual action plans aligned with company objectives. Lead process improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce defects, and minimize environmental impact. Partner with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues. Ensure compliance with company, industry, and safety standards. Manage engineering projects, budgets, and timelines. Train, mentor, and lead engineering staff in die casting best practices. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source materials and equipment. Analyze production data to identify trends and recommend improvements. Prepare and present project proposals and secure funding as needed. Supervisory Responsibilities Lead and manage members of the Production Engineering Department. Responsibilities include hiring, training, work assignments, performance management, and conflict resolution. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of experience in die casting or related manufacturing processes. Strong knowledge of die design, metallurgy, and process optimization. Leadership experience managing engineering teams. Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Familiarity with IATF and ISO standards. Ability to interpret technical journals, reports, and present to senior leadership. Willingness to travel internationally (1-2 weeks at a time) as business needs require.
