Overview Under direction of the VP of Development and Donor Relations (to be hired), TGH Foundation, the Director of Development, Major Gifts develops creative and innovative strategies to identify, cultivate, track, solicit and steward individuals, corporations and foundations capable of making gifts of $100,000+ to the Foundation. Prepares and presents major proposals, solicitation letters, and other materials for key donors; ensures that they are persuasively communicated to target audiences and are consistent with the efforts of others to strategically position the hospital in the marketplace. Collaborates with members of the development team to plan prospect management strategies and moves management while placing the prospect’s best interests first. Works with the Development Committee of the TGHF Board and other volunteers to identify and cultivate prospects and host events. Shares responsibility for the strategic planning, development and implementation of the Foundation’s fundraising goals. Works with campaign consultant(s) and development team in strategizing for capital campaigns and solicits and secures major gifts for the campaign. Works and travels as necessary to successfully meet established goals and objectives. Other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications
Master’s Degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, business management or other related field conducive to major gift fundraising and three (3) years of fund development experience; or bachelor’s degree and five (5) years, experience in major gift solicitation and program management.
Capital campaign experience preferred.
Broad development knowledge and experience in major gifts, planned giving, grants and annual funds.
Ability to plan strategically and manage multiple activities.
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain positive relationships with donors, prospective donors, hospital and Foundation Board members and Foundation staff.
Excellent skills in verbal and written communications.
