Job Title: Global Indirect Procurement Lead

Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced and driven Global Indirect Procurement Lead to oversee several categories of indirect spend on a global scale. This individual will be instrumental in managing sourcing, contracting, supplier relationships, and stakeholder partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of multiple indirect spend categories, with specific experience in Facilities and Finance being beneficial but not mandatory. This role integrates various functions, including procurement, risk management, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Category Management:

Serve as the global category lead for multiple indirect spend categories.

Oversee sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and issue resolution within designated categories.

Develop and implement category strategies that align with business objectives and promote operational efficiency.

Purchase Order Process Leadership:

Collaborate with Accounts Payable (AP) to streamline the Purchase Order (P.O.) process for stakeholders and suppliers.

Work with leadership to enhance payment processes, improving efficiency, compliance, and reporting capabilities.

Supplier Diligence and Risk Assessment:

Partner with Research and Vendor Risk teams to conduct in-depth diligence and background checks on suppliers.

Support and promote supplier diversity initiatives, ensuring thorough data collection and tracking efforts.

Support General Procurement Projects:

Provide ad-hoc support for a variety of procurement initiatives and projects.

Collaborate with other team members to improve procurement processes, reporting, and overall team functionality.

Engage with Legal teams to ensure contracts meet organizational standards and compliance requirements.

Contract Negotiation and Strategic Sourcing:

Lead and manage multiple contract negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

Document negotiation outcomes, manage escalations, and address concerns from stakeholders, including Legal, Vendor Risk, and Compliance departments.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across various levels of the organization.

Communicate effectively to manage expectations and gather insights that drive category strategy.

Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the assigned categories to optimize internal specifications and supplier services.

Address instances of rogue or maverick spend, collaborating with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong experience in procurement and category management, particularly in indirect spending categories.

Familiarity with Facilities and Finance categories is a plus, though not mandatory.

Exceptional project management skills with a strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Proven ability to think strategically while executing tactical procurement processes.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across all levels of the organization.

Experience in contract negotiation and supplier management, with a focus on compliance and risk mitigation.

Analytical mindset with the capacity to identify cost savings opportunities and process improvement areas.

Adaptability and resilience in handling complex challenges in a dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities:

Sourcing Initiatives and RFP Management:

Execute sourcing initiatives in alignment with identified opportunities.

Lead the preparation and execution of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to achieve optimal supplier selection and procurement outcomes.

Contract Review and Development:

Oversee the contract review process for assigned categories.

Collaborate with Legal counsel to draft and finalize contracts that meet quality standards while adhering to our policies.

Stakeholder Relationship Management:

Identify and establish robust relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.

Maintain these relationships to ensure alignment of procurement activities with business needs.

Category Strategy Development:

Create innovative, data-driven category strategies informed by stakeholder input.

Strategically link category management efforts to broader organizational goals.

Drive activities focused on continuous improvement within the assigned spend portfolio, including optimizing internal demand specifications and enhancing supplier services/products.

Identify new areas of opportunity related to assigned categories and collaborate with stakeholders to leverage them for maximum value.

Process Development and Improvement:

Contribute to the enhancement of the department's strategic, operational, and tactical processes.

Implement best practices for procurement operations to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Management of Rogue/Maverick Spend:

Identify instances of rogue or maverick spend within designated categories and seek consolidation opportunities, employing a global perspective when appropriate.

Data Integrity Assurance:

Ensure data integrity in all procurement systems for assigned areas of spend, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Supplier Diligence and Onboarding:

Conduct thorough diligence on new suppliers and project manage their onboarding processes to ensure compliance and alignment with internal standards.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Contribute to documenting procurement initiatives and maintaining comprehensive supplier records in procurement systems.

Qualifications:

Education: A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience in procurement.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of procurement experience, with the majority of time spent in sourcing roles.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong leadership, project management, and organizational abilities.

Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with enterprise procurement platforms that support sourcing, supplier management, and end-to-end procurement operations is preferred.

Negotiation Skills: Proven negotiation skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop supplier relationships.

Analytical Skills: Strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems to drive successful outcomes.

Presentation Skills: Comfortable creating presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and presenting findings to stakeholders and senior leadership.

Knowledge Base: Knowledge of principles, practices, and trends within indirect category environments, as well as applicable procurement policies, laws, and competitive solicitation practices.

Adaptability: Comfort with ambiguity and capability to manage multiple projects in complex situations.

Business Acumen: Strong business understanding, with the ability to align long-term organizational goals with daily procurement activities, while nurturing the development of team talent.

Influencing Skills: Demonstrated ability to assist and influence others towards specific actions using organizational knowledge.
