Senior Procurement Associate role at Bain Capital. This description outlines responsibilities across global category leadership for indirect spend, PO process collaboration, supplier diligence, and general procurement projects. Responsibilities
Global category lead for several categories of indirect spend. The ideal candidate will be well versed in multiple categories. Specific experience with Facilities and Finance is helpful but not required. Category responsibilities include sourcing, contracting, supplier management, stakeholder partnership, and issue management in designated categories. Purchase Order Process Lead – Collaborate with AP to support stakeholders and suppliers throughout the P.O. process. Work with leadership to improve and expand payment processes to drive efficiency and enhance reporting capabilities. Supplier Diligence & Background checks – Partner with Research and Vendor Risk teams to execute diligence on suppliers. Support supplier diversity initiatives and related data collection. General Procurement projects – ad-hoc support for a diverse range of Procurement initiatives. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with other members of the procurement team to develop and improve team processes, enhance reporting, learn about additional categories, and partner with Legal teams. With the bulk of time spent on the category lead role, this individual will manage multiple contract negotiations and strategic sourcing initiatives (e.g. RFPs) at any given time. The selected candidate will partner with stakeholders globally at all levels, document results, manage escalations, and highlight concerns for various stakeholder parties including but not limited to Legal, Vendor Risk and Compliance. Degree qualified in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience 3+ years Procurement experience with most of those in sourcing roles Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership, project management, and organization skills required Experience with enterprise procurement platforms that support sourcing, supplier management, and end-to-end procurement operations preferred Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to manage and develop supplier relationships Strong skills in problem identification, analysis, and resolution Must be comfortable creating presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and presenting to stakeholders and senior leadership Knowledge and experience in principles, practices and trends of indirect category environments and related procurement policies, applicable laws and competitive solicitation practices Comfortable with ambiguity and enjoys managing multiple projects and complex situations Strong business acumen, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, ability to strategically link long-range business goals to daily activities, demonstrated ability to work with others to develop talent for the organization Bain Capital is an equal opportunity employer.
