Morgan Latif has been exclusively retained by a global leader in Industrial Machinery to recruit a confidential, high-impact Plant Director for their Michigan manufacturing facility.
We are looking for an energetic, strategic, and hands-on leader to take full ownership of site operations. Reporting directly to the divisional leader, you will be responsible for production, quality, procurement, HR, and cross-functional alignment—driving operational excellence, maximizing productivity, and ensuring industry-leading on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Take full command of daily production, ensuring exceptional performance in quality, delivery, and productivity.
Champion a culture of continuous improvement, leading quality teams to achieve world-class standards and near-zero customer rejections.
Oversee procurement to secure a robust, cost-effective supply chain aligned with production demands.
Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, and performance management, with a focus on building a high-performing production team.
Identify and deliver process improvements, including strategic insourcing and lead-time reduction initiatives.
Drive seamless collaboration between technical, engineering, and operational teams—locally and globally.
Qualifications
5–10+ years in plant, site, or operations leadership within manufacturing, ideally in complex machinery or industrial equipment assembly.
Proven success in high-mix, high-volume production environments.
Practical, hands-on experience with assembly operations (pure CNC machining experience is not sufficient).
Industry expertise in machinery, heavy equipment, electromechanical systems, or related sectors.
Strong, inspirational leadership style with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
Adept at leading cultural transformation, promoting accountability, and delivering measurable operational gains.
Skilled at cross-functional collaboration and building strong stakeholder relationships.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
