This Manhattan-based residential & commercial real estate developer has been around for almost 60 years and is only getting better. This firm is vertically integrated, so their development, construction, and property management teams all work together. They build ground-up luxury residential and commercial buildings in NYC and have a need for a Project Manager to join the team. The construction team is actually managed by a Professional Engineer (P.E.), so those that are working towards this credential are in luck! This Managing Director is looking for someone from a mechanical engineering firm (think: J,B&B, Cosentini, etc.) who wants to learn construction management and join the ownership side. Definitely not the typical ask from a client like this one!
Your new role
As a Project Manager with this company, you will be focusing on the capital construction projects and will undertake many of the typical duties of a PM on the GC side. You will handle change orders & submittals, and will work with subcontractors, as well as ownership, to ensure the on-time delivery of projects. The hiring manager is looking for someone with experience as a Mechanical Engineer and says he will teach you the construction management side.
What you'll need to succeed 5+ years as a Mechanical Engineer (with a Mechanical Engineering firm) Mechanical Engineering degree (Electrical Engineering or alternate is acceptable) What you'll get in return
