You're a driven Business Development Manager (BDR Manager) with a passion for building and spearheading scalable outbound programs, coaching BDR sales talent, and generating new business opportunities yourself. Our next Business Development Manager will be an integral part of our Sales team, managing our new & growing BDR function, owning CRM/reporting, and personally contributing to pipeline generation. A BDR Manager at Modus reports directly to the Managing Director, and works closely with the executive team to help meet revenue generation goals.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Coaching
Manage and mentor a team of 2 BDRs, providing daily coaching, call & outbound reviews, and performance management. Develop playbooks, outbound sequences, and prospecting strategies to drive BDR productivity. Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Help the BDRs achieve their monthly meeting quota
Pipeline Generation (Player/Coach)
Dedicate ~50% of time to personal outreach: prospecting into target accounts, running outbound campaigns, booking meetings, and engaging senior decision-makers. Execute high-volume outbound activities (emails, calls, LinkedIn messages) to engage decision-makers and schedule meetings for the sales team. Set the standard for outreach quality and results through hands-on execution.
Process & Operations
Own the CRM (HubSpot), reporting, and outbound tools (sequences, enrichment, dashboards). Ensure pipeline accuracy and reliable reporting for leadership. Analyze outreach effectiveness and optimize conversion rates across channels.
Collaboration
Work closely with Marketing & the executive team to align campaigns, content, and messaging with outbound efforts. Provide feedback loops from market conversations to Marketing, Delivery, and Leadership. Other duties related to the position may arise from time to time and may be assigned.
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience in sales development, business development, or related B2B GTM roles, ideally in a professional services or consulting environment. Experience managing or mentoring BDRs/SDRs (formal or informal). Track record of meeting or exceeding quotas for outbound prospecting and opportunity generation. Strong written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to craft compelling outreach messaging to US-based decision-makers. Confidence in engaging with senior executives and enterprise-level prospects. Familiarity with CRM systems (HubSpot, Salesforce) and outreach tools (LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Seamless.ai). Highly organized, proactive, and analytical with the ability to balance management responsibilities with individual contribution. Experience leveraging Gen AI tools to augment workflows. A passion for technology, digital trends, and innovation. Travel for conferences and other related events is potential, but preferred. EST work hours preferred.
