Responsibilities
As a lead automation and AI engineer in the Security Detections and Operations team, you will build and shape the core infrastructure and toolkits to allow security detection engineers to develop, train, evaluate, deploy, and operate machine learning models and pipelines. You will also lead the team in architecting and designing large-scale solutions that will help automate incident response, investigation, and security operations functions across Atlassian. You will build systems for these teams to provide access to curated LLMs and use your software development expertise to solve difficult problems, tackling complex infrastructure and architecture challenges.
You will have the opportunity to lead engineers to drive involved projects from technical design to launch, collaborating with other teams and internal customers to set expectations, gather input and communicate results. You will also help create and drive your team’s technology innovation and vision to improve scale, consistency, and efficacy of numerous security operations programs.
In This Role, You'll Get The Chance To
- Lead the team in tackling the largest and most complex technology challenges, from design to launch.
- Deliver practical and elegant solutions that create measurable high-impact results used by other teams and functional areas.
- Design and deliver AI/ML solutions with tangible business outcomes (e.g., improve detection rate/accuracy, reduce manual toil, and demonstrate improvement in detection and response metrics).
- Design and deliver Automated Incident Response Workflows to enable rapid containment and mitigation of threats, minimizing downtime and impact.
- Design and deliver Threat Intelligence enrichment by leveraging AI/ML to analyze large volumes of threat intelligence to provide actionable insights to endpoints, email, malware, network and application threats.
Our tech stack is primarily Python/Golang leveraging an OCSF-formatted Databricks platform across a multicloud environment.
