Overview

We’re looking for a skilled and collaborative Python Data Engineer to join our growing data platform team. In this role, you’ll design and build scalable, cloud-native data pipelines and APIs using Python and AWS. You’ll work closely with data engineers, analysts, and developers to deliver high-quality data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and business intelligence across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and AWS services.
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows with AWS Glue, Lambda, and S3.
  • Develop APIs in Python to enable seamless data access for analytics and operational systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement reusable data models and architecture.
  • Apply best practices for serverless computing, cost optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Document data flows, architecture diagrams, and engineering processes.
  • Implement data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and external data sources.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.
  • Stay current with AWS innovations and modern data engineering practices.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering or backend development roles.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python for data engineering.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency with AWS services: Lambda, Glue, S3, Athena, Redshift, DynamoDB, and Snowflake.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling (OLTP, ODS, dimensional modeling).
  • Experience designing and integrating APIs using Python.
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture and event-driven design.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience working in agile environments with CI/CD workflows.

Nice to Have

  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect or Data Analytics).
  • Experience with dbt, Databricks, or other modern data stack tools.
  • Exposure to machine learning pipelines and AI-driven analytics.
  • Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience integrating with platforms like ServiceNow.
