Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing private equity fund with over $8B in AUM across multiple investment vehicles. As the firm continues to scale, they are seeking a Fund Controller to play a key role in overseeing fund accounting, operations, and financial reporting, while helping to institutionalize and improve finance processes.

This is a strategic role that offers broad exposure across fund structures and asset classes, as well as a clear path for upward mobility as the finance function grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the fund accounting and reporting processes across several closed-end funds, co-investments, and SMAs
  • Manage quarterly and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP
  • Coordinate with external fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors
  • Review capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations
  • Work closely with the investment team, legal, and IR on deal closings and fund structuring matters
  • Support portfolio valuation processes and waterfall modeling
  • Assist in enhancing internal controls, policies, and reporting frameworks as the firm scales
  • Partner with leadership on fund launches, new product structuring, and operational improvements

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in private equity fund accounting or related experience at a fund administrator or public accounting firm (Big 4 or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of fund structures, capital account maintenance, and US GAAP
  • Experience managing audits and working with third-party administrators
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and capable of working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • CPA preferred but not required
