Position Overview

The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for managing financial reporting and accounting operations for a multifamily real estate portfolio. This role ensures accurate financial statements, maintains compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and supports cross-functional teams through timely analysis and reporting.

Boston, MA — Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly financials with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts for accuracy and classification.
  • Post year-end adjustments and ensure proper closeout of financials.
  • Review capital expenditures.
  • Resolve reconciling items in bank and balance sheet accounts.
  • Support lender reporting and debt compliance requirements.
  • Approve and code invoices; oversee accounts payable in Yardi.
  • Coordinate with auditors, prepare schedules, and address requests.
  • Support accounting for acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of property accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting.
  • Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel preferred.

Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr
