Under general direction, manages, plans, develops, recommends, and implements human resources activities, policies, procedures, and programs for the manufacturing organization. This position guides and directs the overall population of the company in accordance with corporate policies, federal, state, and local laws/regulations. It is responsible for strategic planning to attract, retain, and develop talent, and includes areas such as strategic and organizational planning, performance management, employee development and training, employee relations, wage and salary administration, Workers Compensation, wellness, and safety programs.

Essential Functions of the Job
  • Develop, author, and consult with corporate HR on local policies and procedures; review recommended changes and counsel employees and managers to ensure adherence.
  • Plan, develop, direct, and evaluate the overall administration and coordination of human resources functions to meet company goals and objectives. Continuously improve HR team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances and conflicts; mediate employee relations as a neutral party.
  • Participate as a strategic partner with the executive staff to develop programs impacting the company and its people. Advise management on strategic decisions and resource allocation.
  • Provide consultative support to management on conflict resolution, performance management, and policy application.
  • Translate business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
  • Serve as the Affirmative Action Compliance Officer.
  • Coordinate training needs and delivery of mandated training in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Oversee hourly through salary exempt recruiting, screening, hiring, and orientation processes. Manage internal job transfer, promotion, and related activities.
  • Ensure completion of HR forms, job descriptions, and performance reviews, reviewing for compliance and accuracy.
  • Conduct internal investigations regarding policy violations or employment law breaches.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns, including insurance and local procedures; advise on company policies.
  • Coordinate with leadership on termination actions, ensuring legal and policy compliance.
  • Hold facility meetings on benefits, training, policies, and safety.
  • Oversee employee communications and maintain wage and salary administration processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and agency rules related to HR, workers compensation, and employee safety.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and HR modeling.
  • Knowledge of training design, teaching, and instruction principles.
  • Strong understanding of human behavior and performance.
  • Excellent human relations skills and team collaboration abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with office software and HRIS systems; ADP experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across departments.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree in HR Management, Business, or related field required.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • 10-15 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing, with management and leadership roles.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

This role operates in an office environment with frequent visits to a manufacturing plant. Travel may be required. Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
